Mimar Sinan, the Chief Architect oversaw the construction of 400+ structures, many of them very grand and very well known, and some not so grand (like caravanserais, alms houses, mosques, madrasas, bridges and aqueducts) during his tenure. Sinan was also a contemporary of Michelangelo and Brunelleschi, and was arguably one of the greatest architects of his age. The author provides interesting backstories to some of the well known works.
